All paths lead to the opposition

Well, well, well, in completely unsurprising move Pheu Thai took a swift left turn, ditching Move Forward, while MFP hums in the opposition corner.

I hate to be "that person" (okay, I sort of love it), but let's face it, the minute those polls closed, you could see the writing on the wall for MFP.

Hoping to secure the PM's throne, they played hard to get with other parties, refusing to comprimise. Some MFP enthusiasts might see this as principled. To many (including many progressives), it's a sign of political immaturity. Not exactly ideal when you're vying for the nation's top spot.

Their Hail Mary? A petition to the Constitutional Court, arguing Pita's second vote was more of a playground squabble than proper procedure. But let's be real: it's just kicking the can down the road. If the CC tosses them a bone, and Pita gets a re-do, I wouldn't bet my lunch money on him. That ship has already sailed.

Realistically, if MFP continues to stick with their S112 campaign, the vote is pointless because they’ve already lost. If they suddenly decide to concede on S112 to appease other parties and the senate, their own constituents will be screaming for their heads. Plus, they’ll still lose because nobody will believe they had an actual change of heart. I can’t think of anything more humiliating for Pita than to bow to S112 and then still lose the PM spot.

Which, I must say, makes PT's recent choices all the more intriguing. With MFP off the dance card, they might need to invite some less-than-favored guests to their coalition party – PPRP or UTN. Neither is exactly a crowd-pleaser, with military ties and associations with previous coups.

Then, there's the Bhumjaithai twist! What if Anutin, out of the blue, takes the PM spotlight? Given PT's disdain for PPRP/UTN and vice versa, we might see the head table shaken up a bit. A BJT-led fiesta, perhaps?

But let's not put the confetti before the party. The ball's in PT's court. Grab your popcorn, folks – this formation's going to be a show! 🍿🎭🎉
