One has to wonder when the cannabis market in Thailand will become too saturated. It seems like one or two dozen dispensaries are opening up every week, mostly focused in the usual spots, Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc. While it hasn't resulted in dramatically lower prices yet, it seems some dispensaries are beginning to realize that just selling weed doesn't make them very special anymore. Just in my small part of Phuket, Rawai, with an official population of 40,000 people, there are at least 9 dispensaries. I say "at least" only because there are many smaller bars and other places selling weed that are too small to have an address or social media presence. This week was H.M Queen Mother's birthday which gave many people a long holiday weekend and many dispensaries marked the occasion to have promotions. The promotions were mostly of the "Buy X grams and get a free joint" or "Free shipping" variety but perhaps it's an indication that the weed game has gotten more competitive and dispensaries are feeling the pressure. I've also noticed an uptick of activity from dispensaries on social media, making more posts, pumping out more content on LINE and other apps. Hopefully lower prices will be coming soon. That's it for this week. u/CannabisThilandMod
