BJT goes from third place loser to shot caller

So, guess what? The penny’s dropped and even Move Forward (MFP) seems to be getting the hint that their governmental aspirations are looking, well, rather aspirational.

Pheu Thai (PT) dropped the political equivalent of a mic this week, announcing they're cozying up to Bhumjaithai (BJT). In layman’s terms? The 'weed is rad' party might just get a spot in the Thai government’s VIP lounge – if PT pulls through.

But plot twist! Some of PT's fanatics are a tad salty about the collaboration. Apparently, they think PT's dance card should be a bit more exclusive. But, hey, in the power-hungry game of politics, sometimes you gotta tango with your frenemies.

PT's strategy? Schmooze, and schmooze hard. They're roping in support even from those they didn’t exactly invite to their political party. Meanwhile, MFP's pondering whether to cheer on PT from the sidelines or not.

A lot of folks are basically saying, "Let's just get this political party started!" And why not, especially when there's a seemingly solid candidate on the horizon?

But hold onto your hats...

PT’s main man, Srettha Thavisin, might be in a wee bit of hot water over past financial hiccups. Tsk, tsk. If this turns into a full-blown tea spill, his candidacy could be toast.

So who’s on deck? Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Thaksin’s heir, though she's more known for family ties than political prowess. Then there's PT’s very own wizard behind the curtain, Chaikasem Nitisiri. But at a sprightly 74, he's played more backstage roles than leading ones.

And then there's... *drumroll* Anutin Charnvirakul! If PT stumbles like MFP, BJT might just step up to the plate.

The bottom line? Cannabis aficionados, celebrate! Whether it's PT or BJT at the helm, the green goddess is looking poised for a sunny future in Thai policy. And if you’re scratching your head about the details (blame the short-term memory, right?), think of it as a reboot of last year’s bill – mostly the old hits with a sprinkle of new wisdom.

So, grab some popcorn and enjoy the political theater.
