PHUKET/NAKHON SI THAMMARAT – The cannabis network, in collaboration with the Phuket Cannabis Association and the Southern Youth and Children Network, is actively gathering diverse opinions to draft a comprehensive cannabis law. The proposed legislation aims to establish clear standards and rules, ensuring that cannabis is not categorized as an addictive drug.
Mr. Prasitchai Nunuan, the Secretary-General of the Thai Cannabis Future Network, emphasized the importance of considering various perspectives, especially from children, youth, and entrepreneurs. The discussions revolved around several key issues, including cultivation guidelines, sales formats, and public consumption restrictions.
The network’s initiative also highlights the contrasting societal views on alcohol and cannabis. While alcohol is widely accepted despite its associated risks, cannabis, with its medicinal properties, faces stringent regulations.
