Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital announced on Monday that they will not be accepting any more patients at its cannabis clinic which just opened on Monday. According to a hospital spokesperson, the clinic had reached its limit for patients shortly after opening.

The Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital is renowned for their traditional medicine based treatments. The hospital which had just begun treating patients with epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease before having to turn away additional patients.

The Public Health Ministry had endorsed Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital and their implementation of the special cases guidelines published by the Food and Drug Administration and the amended Narcotics Drug Law.

The hospital also has ambitious plans for cannabis cultivation and experimenting with various extraction techniques in order to produce the best medicinal results for patients.

Traditional medicine practitioner, Dr. Supaporn Pitiporn, chair of the Strategic Thai Herbal and Traditional Medicine at Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr, expects to begin extraction of THC from marijuana supplied by the Office of Narcotics Control Board.

It is unknown at this time when Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital will reopen to new patients but given their initial success and plans for expansion, they could be opening their doors to new patients soon.
